Bryan and Melanie

I had the pleasure of shooting my cousin, Bryan’s wedding this past April. Growing up I always considered him one of my best friends. But as the years went on, life got crazy as it often does, and somehow we lost touch. I saw him randomly at varying places through the years, but that was all. Much to my surprise though, I received a phone call from him earlier this year. It was great to catch up, hear about his up-coming wedding and then be asked to photograph their wedding! It was a honor.

The wedding took place at the Hardeman Sam’s House in Athens, GA. It is a beautiful home, that is a little over 100 years old, therefore possessing much life and character- which I love! The ceremony took place outdoors on a lovely spring day in april and the reception took place inside the house.

The wedding was very pretty, and it possessed a classy yet backyard family feel to it, hence the Bride and Groom only inviting close family and friends. The wedding was fun, and a celebration! Everyone there could not be happier for them, but the joy on Bryan and Melanie’s faces said it all.

Bryan and Melanie were probably the most “chill” couple that I have ever had, and it was ok. Instead of freaking out about the flowers, the cake or the music- they were merely just happy to be getting married. That is a very rare thing. Sometimes we get caught up in the details of the day-spending thousands of dollars, the dress, inviting people, some whom we don’t even know and we forget why we are doing all of this or what is most important…ok off the soapbox now…:)

Lastly though, I just want to say a big Congratulations to my wonderful cousin Bryan and his new wife Melanie! Pray the Lord blesses you both in your marriage!
